1 set = 1 pair (two pins: one with the hook, one with the eye) that interlock to close up the excess fabric on ONE SIDE your waistband. As shown in the product pictures. If you’re shopping purely for function, that’s all you need! See our instagram content to see :)

You would only need to wear 2 pin sets at a time if you prefer to style them on both sides of your waist, or if you are using them on jeans or trousers that are much larger in size.

Remember, with our bundles you can save up to 50% when buying additional pins. So getting extra pins means to you can try out both styles anyway. So we recommend choosing a bundle!

They should be! When hooking the pins together, they naturally lift slightly away from the body. Each set of pins also comes with additional rubber backs for anyone concerned about comfort. Remember, if you’re unhappy with your pins, you can always return or exchange them within the 14-day return window. So give them a try!

1. Carefully open your package.
   
2. Remove the pin backs (you can watch our video guide on removing the pin backs here).
   
3. Gently attach the pins to your clothes. This can be done with the clothes on or off the body. Attach the pin backs by gently pushing them on until they secure in place.
   
4. Hook the pins together.
   
5. Adjust the pin location if necessary.
   
6. If required, switch the metal backs for the rubber ones. The rubber backs may be more comfortable for some people.

No! The only limit is your imagination. As well as jeans, pants, and trousers, our pins can also be used to fasten blazers, cardigans, skirts, shawls, wraps, scarves and shirts.

They do work best on the waistband as the natural tension here prevents the pìns from unhooking accidentally. But we've told by customers that they have worked well for multiple purposes.

If using on delicate thinner fabrics, be cautious! Create less tension by not hooking the pins together too tightly.

We also don’t recommend wearing them on swimwear or any clothing likely to be submerged in water.

Our pins are made of zinc alloy, which mainly consists of zinc and aluminium but can contain trace amounts of other metals such as nickel. Therefore, our pins are not currently suitable for those with a nickel allergy or other metal allergies. If you do have an allergy, please know that we are actively exploring alternative production materials, so check back soon!

Our pins do come with additional black rubber backs! So if you really want to try them, do know that switching to these backs mean only the plastic will be touching your skin. These black rubber backs are a little less secure than the metal ones so just don't pin your pins too tightly or use them on heavy fabric.

No. The pieces are small and the pins have sharp points, so they should not be used by young children. They may be used by older children or teenagers at the discretion and supervision of a parent or guardian. It is the responsibility of the parent to examine the product first and decide if it is suitable. No young children.

No. For most everyday wear, there is no concern about damage. Waistbands are usually reinforced, as this is where tension naturally occurs to keep your jeans or trousers up. Because of this, the fabric there is generally strong enough to handle a pin. Of course, you should be cautious with delicate or expensive fabrics, but for most people and garments there are no problems at all.

Because they fit everybody. The pins are adjustable, so they can be attached as loosely or as tightly as you need.

Yes! They make great gifts. All of our pins come with their own soft black velvet pouch, which makes them perfect for gifting. Everyone needs to wear a belt sometimes, right? So why not switch them over to waist pins!

You can, but let us know as quickly as possible. Our orders are almost always shipped by the following business day, and are often sent the same day. Don’t panic! Check your junk or spam mailbox, and any other “other” mailbox filters your email provider might have. It’s also possible the order was placed using a different email address.

You would have received a shipping confirmation email with tracking. Remember the shipping times of your country. For most countries it is 5-10 working days from the date of fulfilment. If there is anything unusal in your tracking details or it's taking longer than 10 working days, contact us via our contact page with your order number and we'll check everything for you.

Tracking says delivered?
First, don’t panic. In most cases the order still shows up. Sometimes the courier leaves the parcel in a safe place if you’re not home.

1. Check all safe spaces around your front door (plant pots, bins, or hidden behind something).
   
2. Check with people in your household. The parcel is often small and can get mixed in with other letters.
   
3. Check with your neighbours.
   
4. Wait 48 hours. Sometimes parcels are marked as delivered early and arrive shortly after.
   
5. If you still have no luck, contact us via our contact page and confirm your full and exact shipping address.

This can happen for a few reasons. In some cases we can redirect the parcel back to you, but sometimes this isn’t possible. Not to worry though — just confirm your full and exact shipping address with us and we’ll either fix the issue or resend your order.

The Pin Theory is a registered British company run by Jack, a British entrepreneur living in Spain. We ship globally from Shenzhen China and sell wholesale to stores in the UK, USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

Our pins are manufactured in China, and we have an established relationship with our warehouse team in Shenzhen. This allows us to ship globally while avoiding unnecessary extra shipping distances to warehouses in other countries. The journey from production to customer is more direct.
